Politiness

I think it would be lots of fun
To be polite to everyone,
Not just at home, you know
But everywhere you go !

politeness

I’m sure this thought has crossed many a parents mind. We are all born rude!
I have not met a new baby that dosen’t think it OK to wake you up in the middle of
the night. Parents first lesson, with love and patience this behavior changes.

The idea that people can behave naturally without a code of manners is silly. If
everyone made up his or her own manners no one would understand the meaning
of anyone else’s behavior and the world would become an even messier place
to live.

As parents we must live our expectations as examples for our children. They learn manners
by imitating what they see and are exposed to. They listen to the rules and watch the
actions of their parents. “Do as I say not as I do” is an impossible task for the young. If they
see their parents acting inappropriately, in the childs mind this becomes correct behavior.

Courtesy should travel in both directions. If you treat your young child with respect and they
observe you treating everyone around you with respect, they too will respond with respect and
it will become a way of life. A way of life which will build self esteem and create a peaceful and
happy exsistance.

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” makes you feel good about
yourself and happy with your attitude. Have you ever noticed how difficult it is to
stop thinking about an unkind act you have commited? Excuses don’t help either.
Life is wonderful without the heavy load of guilt.

Face each day with a light heart and a smile
Happiness is,
You are one step ahead of being a Goop
All the while

Love,

Grammy Barb
